Caption: The Embrace by Robert Gibbings,1925. Sandstone. This sculpture was inspired by a photograph of girls dancing which appeared in a souvenir programme from a Parisian music hall. Gibbings is best known as a wood engraver and author. At the time that this sculpture was made he owned The Golden Cockerel Press, Berkshire.
