Caption: One of a group of prints which form an extension to Barbara Newcomb’s fascination with the vitality and energy of the natural world. Using a sinuous line she has depicted the moment of elation when a sprinter breaks the tape, a hurdler clears the hurdle or the moment of flatness when the race is over and the runner slows to a halt. These exceptionally large etchings are as much to do with emotion as they are with movement. |
